The Minister of State for Environment; Hon. Beatrice Atim Anywar holding Fort for the Minister of Water and Environment; Hon. Sam Cheptoris officially opened the 1st Uganda Annual Water Utilities - Regulator’s Conference in Luzira, Kampala - Uganda.

The theme of the Conference is “Accelerating Inclusive and Resilient Water and Sanitation Services for Sustainable Development”. The overall objective of the Conference is to engage stakeholders in reviewing the performance of regulated utilities as documented in the 2024 and 2025 Annual Regulator’s Reports, and to agree on practical undertakings and regulatory priorities.

During the event; Hon. Beatrice Atim Anywar launched the Annual Regulator’s Report for Financial Year 2024/25. The Report presents an objective assessment of the performance of the regulated Utilities, highlighting progress as well as areas requiring strengthened attention.

The key achievements include: growth in new water connections, improvements in metering coverage, & the commissioning of the Water Meter Testing and Calibration Centre in Entebbe, an important milestone for enhancing transparency, consumer protection & overall revenue assurance.

The event has brought together Utilities, Government Agencies, Development Partners, Private Sector actors, and Civil Society Organizations to discuss performance, regulatory priorities, and the enabling environment for inclusive and resilient water and sanitation services.
