The Minister for Water and Environment (MWE) under the National Forestry and Tree Planting Act of 2003 (NFTPA 2003) is charged with the formulation and implementation of the Forestry Policy, the National Forest Plan and the overall management of the forest sector, through the Directorate of the Environment Affairs, the Forest Service Support Department (FSSD) which supervises the District Forest Services (DFS), and the National Forestry Authority (NFA).
