These installed solar photovoltaic energy packages will significantly reduce the cost of water pumping. Initially the water tariff was at 4,000UGX but it has since reduced to 3,400UGX.
Namayumba WSS is projected to serve 17,200 people in the villages of Abdabi, Bukuku, Kabirigo, Kampala road, Kasanga, Malangata, Namayumba Central A&B, Upper Namayumba. The average water pumped is 45,900 per  day.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary said the significant reduction in the tariff charged for the water supply services is very evident and we are confident that availability and reliability of water supply are also greatly improved by this remarkable reduction of the cost of water pumping.
